Here are the two latest pairs of socks that I have completed.
The scrappy socks are made from leftovers. I had these colours leftover after making a bunch of hats for charity. The yarn is Encore Colors Worsted Weight knitted on Size 4s. I just used the yarns as they came along, which is why there are 5 different yarns in these socks. It is also why there is no rhyme or reason to the colour blocking.
The Dragonflies are knitted in a lace stitch that looks like a dragonfly. These were done in a Cascade Yarns Sassy Stripes sock weight yarn knitted on Size 2s. As you can see I didn't get the striping to line up as the yarn was wound different on the 2 skeins I had and I decided "screw it", I am not going to make myself crazy trying to get it to line up. Hey, they are my socks, therefore, it's my rules. I would only wish that my pictures would show the design better, however, sigh...
BTW, these Dragonfly in Amber KAL socks are going to have a felted bag in the shape of a thistle to go with. Green Pi in earlier post is the beginning of that project...

They look great! I am working on a pair of brown socks now that, eventhough they are the same dye lot, stopped at different varigated areas, so the toes look like they are two totally differen yarns. I almost gave up but thought, what the heck.....
I love the left-over socks; I enjoy making them and wearing them and always get compliments as they are so quirky.

I'm sorry. From the P.C. that I was on from work, it looked like green and blue.
No worries, I forgot that some monitors, don't read colours true, just like my camera doesn't picture them true, sometimes..

If I could knit that fast I'd have a dozen pair of hand knit socks. Mine take forever, I am the slowest knitter in the world evidently. I love your dragonfly socks, no matter what color they are.
Thanks, Jan. I have gotten faster with practice and I have a lot of time on my hands... I have given most of them away, but I am working toward the goal of one pair for everyday and 2 in the wash. I have two pair in cotton and soy for summer and will need to work on them after I get the winter ones squared away.

the dragon fly socks look great and I love the other ones I had been wondering what to do with all my wee bits of left over sock yarn thanks for the idea...

I have a different pair on the needles now, but I have the pattern saved...I love the way the colors bob and weave like the pretty little darners...

Oh, you are a Diana Stalker too? I hope you get to see her in PHX, she lives in Mesa, so she's usually there. I had lunch with her and she came to a Blair Handafst Renewal that same year. I have a picture of her totally surrounded by guests as SHE IS SO TINY.
The socks went really fast and I already have another pair on the needles in a different colour way of yarn.
