Day 20 ~ What I Read
I always have two or six books going at the same time. Currently, these are the books I reading. They are, in no particular order, Shine, Shine, Shine by Lydia Netzer, Cross Stitch by Diana Gabaldon (Outlander's British title), The Shetland Bus by David Howarth and The Gourmet Detective by Peter King. I generally catch up on magazines and newspapers at the library. However, The National Geographic and the Smithsonian come to the house, so I am perusing them as well.
I troll Facebook on and off all day if I am to home, so I read numerous updates and articles linked by my friends.
I also read, on the average, six to ten blogs a week. Again in no particular order. I regularly read Rebecca's, Erin's, Nic's, Celia's, Dave Lowe's, and Alan Doyle's.

I'm Versatile, According to Margi

WOOT!WOOT! I'm a Versatile Blogger, thanks to Margi from Maverick Crafter! How kewl is that and what a great way to start the day! Thank you so very much!
Here are the responsibilities that come along with the award:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award. (Margi at the Maverick Crafter is the bomb.com!)
2. List 7 things about yourself. (SEVEN?)
3. Pass on the award to bloggers you've recently discovered. (Official rules say 15 - I managed 8)
My 7 things:
1. I have never had a nickname. Closest I ever came to one was being called Lessis by my sister's kids because they couldn't pronounce my name.
2. I am passionate about everything I do including the very few people I let close into my world.
3. I'm a huge fan of Celtic music and all things related to my Scottish heritage.
4. I constantly have my nose in a book (or two or three at a time) and it doesn't matter the genre, fiction or nonfiction, I'll read it.
5. My favourite place to be in America is Canyon de Chelly (Canon de Tseyi), going to the UK this fall and will probably have a new favourite place to be.
6. I am a Scottish Heavy Athletics, ice hockey, AAA baseball and roller derby fan!
7. I played softball when I lived in Texas and New Jersey, I was never any good at it, however I played on some winning teams and made some key plays in the playoffs to get there.
I am passing the VBA on to the following and therefore making them Versatile as well.

I was just visiting my dear friend, Anne's blog and saw this. Please do go check out my new cyber friend Gypsylulu's 100th post and give away at Gypsylulu's blog here.
She has pretties to giveaway... As most of my friends know, I am mad for amber beads and red anything. I can always use more of both.

Tag You Are IT!
My friend Anne, the bodacious owner of the Fabulous El Milagro Studio has tagged me, now I tag you.

This is how the Tag works:
A. Name & link back to the person who tagged you. (I managed that part....)
B. List six (un)important things that make you happy.
C. Tag six bloggers & let them know they're *it* by leaving them a comment.
Six things........
1. Time with my DD, chilling with a vintage TV show!
2. The Cat that owns us both, Pan aka Pandemonium!
3. Sharing art, literature and life's stuff with my family and friends.
4. I really do like wearing a corset!
5. Good friends who put up with and celebrate my eccentricities. I took this one directly from Anne and Amen to that, Sistah Grrl!
6. A Great Cup of Joe!
Now, to my victims, er, I mean, my FRIENDS! ;-)
1. Nic at http://nicknits.blogspot.com for persevering on the Jolly Green Giant and her willingness to share it with us, pretty amazing!
2. Rebecca at http://danceswithpitbulls.blogspot.com/ for always amusing me and giving me a window into her world at the other end of Union Blvd!
3. Father Michael at http://parchedground.wordpress.com for his considered and thought provoking writing on any number of subjects...
4. Kay at http://quiltspluscolor.blogspot.com for her colourful addition to my life and her puzzles of interesting things and whose work inspires me.
5. Brittany at http://papermoonies.blogspot.com for her wonderful spirit and kewl art and for being my new found friend.
6. Ces at http://cesandherdishes.blogspot.com for amazing art, thoughtful commentary and the kewlest Moleskines, on this earth or any other.
Again, I cannot say it better then Anne, so I am not changing a word. Go pass this on; see what is truly important, or unimportant but makes you happy!
All my readers, without question, make me happy!

My First Award
I just got a message from Mixed Media Artiste and Extraordinary Friend, Anne of the El Milagro Studio blog and she was awarded one of these and choose to honour me as well. In reading her blog post about the award, I realized how small is this cyber world we inhabit. This award was to sent to her by a friend we have in common, Quilt Artist Extraordinaire, Tristan and she also passed the award onto another friend we have in common, our dear Mixed Media Artiest Extraordinaire Marion across the pond.

The accompanying text with the award is as follows:
"This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award."
So, here is the list of bloggers I choose to honour with the Proximity Award, in no particular order and for no particular reasons.
