29 May - Maybe

Maybe:

It's Sunday and I forgot to post yesterday.

I had fun with Rebecca and Mary Beth at Territory Days in Old Colorado City, instead.

I got my picture taken with a Buffalo Bill Cody re-enactor.

I used some of my gift certificate from Mary Lou at Green Valley Weavers.

I bought a Polish Pottery spoon from Ginger Pokrant at the celebration.

I went to church this morning and looked at the gardens for the first time in weeks. Wowser!

I cast on for a Zig-Zag Pullover sweater in two shades of LBY Fishermen's Wool (brown and natural) and one of Paton's Classic Wool in Leaf Green today as I am at a stand still on the Water's Edge sweater due to lack of blue spots, as yet, on the very last skein of my custom dyed yarn that I need for it.

The month is nearly over and I might almost be back in the habit of writing to my blog again.

#66 of 365 - Knitting yet Again...

Busy, busy weekend. Knit with the girls at the Lamb Shoppe yesterday afternoon, saw The Rising also known as Mohr Phun which was a concert presented by Angus Mohr and Gobs O'Phun, thus the name, last night.

Also met the Judds' new family edition, currently sort of nameless... I fell for her and she for me. she tried to hide under my skirt and go with when I left the house this morning. Then to church at my church home away from church home, Saint Thomas. Then it was Kiltmaking 202 with Judy this afternoon.

Now watching the Oscars and hand stitching pleats in. Ryan Blair WILL wear this kilt at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Denver on the 13th (next Saturday, don't ya know)!

Basically, I hung out all the weekend with various iterations of my Denver,Aurora and Broomfield friends.

#38 of 365 - Twin Sisters from Different Mothers

I went to my church home away from home today. Lovely, historic Saint Thomas in the Park Hill section of Denver.

There I met another Leslie. Our name is not that common and it's so fun to talk about being a Leslie.

That's my friend Judy's finger in the picture, don't ya know...

New Wellies - It's a Funny Old World

On Sunday, you might not be aware, it snowed here in Colorado. It was that wet sloppy snow, which of course is all gone now, as it was nearly 60 degrees yesterday. This leads me to the topic of this post. I wore my new wellies to church on Sunday. No cute shoes for me, as it was a wet, sloppy and six inches.

I had bought a pair of Debbie Mumm garden wellies on sale last weekend. My daughter of course thought I was a loon for getting them as they are a kinda ugly green with flowers and the soles and trim are orange. I wanted the yellow and blue ones but they didn't have my size. However, as Erin reminded me, I have a lot of clothes that have these colours so they were actually the better choice.

I was dressing for church and looking out the door at the snow trying to decide on whether to wear my purple suede heels or what? Looking at the sloppy snow, I decided to wear my wellies to church. My daughter asked me "If I was really going to wear them?" My answer was an unqualified "Yes!" I pulled on a pair of wool stockings and rolled the cuffs over the top and away I went.

The funniest part of the whole thing was the compliments I got on them, from the men, no less. I guess they were glad to see a woman in sensible but FUN footwear that was appropriate for the weather. I was able to offer my services to other people to escort them to and from their cars and therefore be of service and not worry about slip, sliding away on the sidewalks myself.

Anyway, I think the money was well spent and they ARE fun. I hadn't expected to wear them before next winter, but I had forgotten that it usually snows on Easter here and therefore a perfect opportunity was presented.
