Day 11 ~ Something Fun
This is Montone. Montone is a glow in the dark alien Christmas tree ornament I was given by Mark about 10 years ago. He's named for a character in Outland, a movie from the 1980s. For fun I take him places and photograph him. He's been to the London Eye, Stonehenge and the top of Pike's Peak. Here he is in Grace's living room in California. He lives in one of my Altoid tins devoted to knitting accouterments, so he travels with me all the time.

#51 of 365 - Got Our Geek Card Punched
We went to see Avatar today, finally. It was Pocahontas and the Smurfs on Steroids, but it was definitely worth seeing if only for the special effects... I knit whilst waiting for movies to start as well...

#18 of 365 - My New Toy
The DD and I went to see Sherlock Holmes again with her friend, Jess. We also saw it last week with my friend, Rebecca. We didn't mind seeing it again as we wanted to see more of the details that we missed the first time around. I still say the costuming was FABULOUS!

Star Trek the Movie

GO SEE!
Nothing more need be said.
GO SEE!
We actually saw the movie! The weather changed from sunny and warm to rainy and cool between the thought of going to the movie and walking up to the box office to buy the tickets (about 2 hours). My daughter and I, after nearly 2 years of living in the Springs, have experienced either rain, snow or the weather changing every time we decide to go see a movie. We've become convince we haven't seen the movie if something is not spitting from the sky or blowing us across the parking lot.

Coraline, the Movie

We, the Daughter o'Mine and I went to see Coraline this weekend. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. It was her first 3-D movie and my first one since before she was born. Yikes! The only downside of the experience for either of us was the 3-D glasses didn't fit either of us very well and the bridge of my nose complained bitterly.
I hope that you do read the book by Neil Gaiman before you go to see it. It's a fast little read and can be found in the Young Adults area at either your LBS or your library. Do look also, for the little hand knit treasures from Althea at www.bugknits.com. The blue sweater with stars, the cream sweater and the gloves were just lovely. I think I will get me a yellow slicker and some yellow rain boots and be Coraline for Halloween..
Someone over at Ravely has already designed a full size grownup pair of the gloves. They might be my first venture into glove knitting, who knows?
